Dead Beat Dad
You are an awful man.
But I am going to pray for you.
You were a terrible husband.
But I am going to pray for you
You are a disgrace as a father.
But I am going to pray for you.
You and I as well as everyone else will be held accountable for every decision we make.
When you rest your head at night do you even think about...
Did my kids eat today?
Are they safe?
Are they okay?
What have I done as a father for them today?
What kind of example am I setting?
Do I want my children to be like me?
When you are kicking it with the fellas, ridin’ out,  smokin’, jokin’, hoin’, do you even think about...
Who’s teaching my kids?
What are they learning?
Are they happy?
Do they have what they need?
Do they cry at night, “Where is my daddy?”
Will they be able to succeed because of me?
You are an awful man.
But I am going to pray for you.
You were a terrible husband.

But I am going to pray for you.
I refuse to curse your name in their presence.
They are too little to see like I see.
They are too little to understand that you are NOT being a real man.
You cannot abuse and neglect the gifts that God has given you.
You  WILL... You SHALL... Be held accountable!
But I am going to pray for you.
Go to bed tonight, dead beat dad.  Rest your head.

Jul. 13, 2007 at 3:54 AM Your thoughts really express how I feel!  It makes me wonder if any of these dead beat dads read that they would understand what they are doing/not doing for their children.
