GLOBAL WARMING IS A MAJOR CONCERN OF MINE! I can't STAND this one degree raise in the temperature every year! I am a WINTER- LOVER! They suggest buying a CFL lightbulb. Just one is like taking 80,000 cars off the road, carpool, use public transportation or do like I do and bike, walk or skate EVERYWHERE under 10 miles away! They say bring your own canvas bags to the grocery store to put groceries in. Both paper AND plastic are bad. Cancel any catalogues you get in the mail! Buy a reuseable aluminum water bottle instead of plastic ones, you can recycle about 70% of your garbage! One person makes 21 hefty bags a MONTH! You can recycle paper, glass, plastic...what else? Turn water off when you're brushing your teeth. Use NATURAL cleaning products like water and vinegar NOT CHEMICALS! Buy organic and natural food and clothes and other items. Not everyone has to do EVERYTHING but everyone MUST do SOMETHING!!! In 80 years there will be no ski vacations and no butterflies! 115 degree heat is gonna be TORTURE SO GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND HELP OR YOUR GRANDCHILDREN WILL HAVE A NIGHTMARE WORLD TO LIVE IN!

I agree with you!  I did see an Inconvenient Truth, and it's definitely an eye-opener.  Everyone should watch it!  I am going to start using those lightbulbs...I saw something on tv about it the other night.  I think they said within 4 months you'll get your money's worth because of how much lower the electric bills will be or something like that (correct me if I'm wrong).  But either way it's saving money in the long run by using those!

Sep. 13, 2007 at 1:18 PM So far I bring bags back to reuse at grocery store and when I buy necessities, I wash clothes in cold, put dishwasher on water saver, turn water OFF as often as possible (like when I brush teeth), unplug everything at night and have gotten a RESIN water bottle from the army surplus store in Boulder! I STILL have yet to get the expensive lightbulbs that work great to save energy and the planet. I still walk EVERYWHERE as I did when I lived in Europe and everywhere I have ever lived...also cancelled a BUNCH OF STUPID CATALOGUES that looked like clothing I would NEVER EVER BUY how did they get my address? If I want something I'll find it online I don't need them to waste trees! We STILL need to look into how to recycle! We STILL have to look up how to make our own cleaning products and I am sure I can find it in Good Housekeeping or something. My girls think it's hilarious I bring old used bags back to the grocery store to use again! But I explain how we need to help out the Earth. Our kids wont even be ABLE TO GROW FOOD someday. Think about it! In 50 years if it's 120 everyday? Is that really going to grow very much? Citrus maybe!

Oct. 8, 2007 at 1:31 AM i agree with you!! our poor KIDS are going to pay for all of this mess. we all need to make changes and think of our kids futures!!!!!  how the heck DO we stop all that JUNK MAIL that i toss into my recylce bin each day?  what else can we do about our cars if we cant afford to buy a hybrid??  my grandmother used baking soda to clean her teeth each night and she lived to be 88!  but my kids wont like the taste of baking soda...maybe later they will.  i feel better that im no longer contributing to that endless landfill of diapers.  i think a good portion of this problem is out the reach for us "little people" to conrol? meaning that the "higher powered " people have to dive in a help us help the environment the best way that we can so that OUR kids dont have to forever pay for what we have done to this world... know what i mean?  we can only do so much... and it still wont be enough to try to end the irreversible damage that has been done.. its so sad.
