Smiley Kylie

For those of you who asked questions about Kylie.  She is now cast-free and had her first birthday celebration.  I just wanted to let you know that things are a little easier without the cast -but not much.  I thought life would be simple again with the cast off but she isn't moving the left leg too much yet - the one with the underdeveloped hip and the one with the surgery.  the left leg still is in the position it was when it was cast.  The other leg is moving all around.  She has discovered that she has a leg and a foot and toes.  She is almost a controtionist with that leg.

Diaper changing isn't much easier because you can't grab her ankles and lift her little bottom.  You have to put her on a bed or a soft surface and bounce the diaper up under her little bottom.

I also didn't realize that we would have to teach her to sit up all over again.

But we are taking things one day at a time.  She rolled over last night which is something she hadn't been able to do with the cast on.

She can drag herself a little bit now on carpeting.  The legs are healing nicely.  There are a few rashes left but most of the dry skin is gone.

I guess I just have to resign myself to the fact that this will take time and everything will be as God allows it to be.

I am taking  a break from posting pics on CM to give some others a chance to win - there is no point in me saying not to vote for me because some will listen and some will not.  I will try to upload a pic of Kylie's birthday to CafeMom but not ClubMom.  I hope you all understand.

I will post here periodically as time permits.  Good luck to all of you and thank you for your sweet birthday wishes for Kylie.

We love you all......

Thanks for the update on Kylie. I've been wondering how things were going with her since her cast came off. I hope she had a really great birthday party.

She is such a strong little girl!  I know she can beat whatever challenges come her way!  Alyssa is almost 11 months and just started sitting up on her own last week.  We are so proud of how hard she tries to do something new.  She had a rough start, but she'll catch up in no time.

I do miss seeing Kylie on CM every day.  I understand you want to give others a turn and that is very generous of you.  I'll have to visit your pics over her so that will work.  Give Kylie hugs and kisses.  She will get better - it will get easier.  God heals all.  Just keep remembering to breath in breath out.
