When the sparkle is lit and throwing out sparks, they don't burn you. The silver material is what does the damage. It can come off of the wire handle and land on your/someone elses skin. It is very hot but you don't feel it when it first lands. The problem is that it his hot enough to make it still hot but it is cooling rapidly and literally attaches like glue. It starts stinging your skin as it penetrates the top layer and then starts going deeper.
If this happens try not the "brush it off" because this can drag it against the surrounding skin. Make a well amed shot at it to knock it off and if you have something to cover your fingertips, pick it off. Of course it's not like you can take the time to do this.
Parents have been known to severly injure their fingertips because they pick it off their child's skin.
I won't even go into what happens if it lands in your eye...OOPS! TOO LATE!! I beat you are imagining this in your head and your eyes are watering or you are squinting like you are trying to block it.
BE CAREFUL WITH THE FIRE WORKS
Comments:
One year when I was growing up the wind got out of hand, living in Chicago it's not unusual . My mom was wearing a windbreaker and my brother accidently flung the sparkler. It landed on mom's arm and melted the wind breaker into her skin. I was about9 then , now I'm 40 she still has that scar. I won't let my children touch those darn things. They still scare me.
Thanks for the info! I didn't know this. I almost bought some, too. Glad I didn't now.
