....one of my favorite tunes next to "All Star".
My last concert was to see Smash Mouth perform. I had waited a couple years to see Steve on stage. We were in the 3rd row, center stage...so close I could smell his sweat. I went with my hub and one of my best friends. We had an absolute blast.
I know some people consider them has beens but I really like their music. Besides, the theme is what was the last concert you went to not the best concert LOL....
The weather was really iffy the day of the concert. Since it was an outdoor concert, I thought for sure it would end up being cancelled. We decided to brave it as I was bound to go see Steve and the rest of the guys perform.
It was really shocking to see that no one showed up to the concert. I would say there were probably less than 100 peeps that showed up. I didn't care until I got nervous that they wouldn't perform because of it and the weather.
Like the professionals they are... They came out and rocked the place. I've been to allot of concerts and I have to say they ranked right up there with the best. Since there was so few people there it felt like a serenade. He made sure to "connect" with everyone.
When the concert was over, Steve made an announcement that due to our determination to show up for a concert and brave the whether, the guys would do a meet and greet with everyone present.
We decided to be the last ones in line for the greet. It was a great decision. We got to stick around longer than the rest and hang with the guys for a few while the crew were packing up the stage.
I got to talk about Steve's appearance on Surreal Life, the band's performances on movies like Shrek, Austin Powers, and Road Trip etc.
I'm now a devoted fan because of their sincerity.
I hate the way I look but here's a pic of me with Steve and another one at the concert with my friend. My husband was definitely not intended to be a photographer LOL:

Cute Story. I really cant believe that no one showed!!! I quit listening to anything but christian when I had my kids (and one day my daughter broke out in a country song:) but I still listen on occasion. I would nave never guessed they were 'has beens' I guess I am out of the 'know' after all. Guess it helps having a teenager:) Heck, I still think the Bee~Gees and Elvis are awesome:) and I love to hear one of their songs when I am out somehwere, lol!!! I am so pathetic. (Well, they were my moms favorite ... I guess that is why I hold them so high:)
Your pics are lovely. Iam sad you don't think so. An amazing memory:)I think ya'll look pretty darn good for all you had been up to:) Take me next time, lol. There will be 101~ :P
