How was YOUR 4th of July?

I was home sick for the 4th, but the hubby took the kids to a family BBQ and lit some fireworks and had fun.  I wanna hear what everyone else did!

Jul. 7, 2007 at 5:56 PM I stayed home, i livein a tourist town and it drives me absolutly crazy to be in town during the holidays. so i stayed home and read a whole book!!!! Pretty comfortable and relaxing

Jul. 9, 2007 at 5:17 PM i was actually sick too, but nothing short of death could keep me away from fireworks.  we went to a parade in the morning.  i took a nap while dh swam with the kids in the afternoon.  we were in a tornado watch until 11 pm.  it threw down rain as we got into the car to go to the fireworks show and we figured "at least it's getting out of the way now!"  they ended up lighting them off 45 minutes early becuase a storm cell was headed right for us.  we sat huddled on our neat sheet under umbrellys eating cotton candy, snoballs and funnelcakes in a pouring rain.  the sky let up and they did a 30 minute show in 15 minutes.  as the last pop echoed thru the sky, mother nature set off her own show and thunder shook so loud all the kids screamed.  we walked four blocks back to the car under our umbrellys and sloshing through puddles as deep as the curbs.  sopping to the skin and laughing all the way home.  it was fantastic.  and no one died.
