OH NO-They might have to STAY!! *prayers and good thoughts please*

We are due to pick up my SD's from their BM's house on July 28. We are planning to drive to Memphis from Houston and back. Costs for the car rental, gas and food will cost us over $800. We currently only have $400 saved because hubby's last 3 paychecks were under $650 due to his company moving and another person being hired on-and therefore taking some of my hubbys work and comissions.

Our mortgage alone is $900 and that's pretty cheap for a 3 bedroom house in Sugar Land. We have several bills that are overdue and are worried sick that we have the choice of paying the mortgage and bills OR getting SDs for the school year. Their situation at BM's is horrendous, CPS has been involved before because of the living conditions there. One of the girls wants to stay there and the other does not (but the girl that wants to stay does only for selfish and childish reasons, like "they have more video games there and I can eat as much junk food as I want, when I want")

Keep us in your prayers and thoughts as I contact our local United Way and hopefully am connected to some resources in our area that will help us with our bills so that we can use hubbys next paycheck (the 27th) to fund the trip. We need all of the good vibes we can get!!

Jul. 18, 2007 at 2:15 PM I know it is hard to juggle eveything! Have you looked into your Dh flying out and renting a car there then driving back? Might be cheaper that way, Just a thought. I will keep you guys in my prayers!

Jul. 18, 2007 at 7:38 PM We're both driving up because my ex-FIL is helping with the travel finances in exchange for us being able to spend the weekend at his house- and thus letting him see my 2 daughters from my previous marriage(his granddaughters). Otherwise, hubby would drive by himself to get SDs

GOD'S MOTHER?

It was a bitterly cold day, and a young boy was shivering on the sidewalk. His clothes were ragged, his shoes had holes in them, and he had no coat at all. A woman noticed the boy and took pity on him.

"Are you lost?" she asked. "Where are your parents?" The boy shook his head and shrugged.

She took him to a clothing store and bought him a complete set of clothing, including shoes, coat, mittens and a cap. Then they ate lunch at a nearby McDonald's, while she wondered how to make sure he *had* a home to go to.

The youngster was overjoyed at all this, and as he finished his milkshake he asked, "Are you God's mother?"

The gentle woman smiled and answered, "Oh, no! I'm just a child of God."

The boy said, "I knew you had to be related to HIM!"
