Daily Theme=Do you like your name?

I find this a very easy question to answer.........................yes, I like my name.  But when I got married, my middle name rhymed with my last name, so it made it a  little 'weird' but other than that I am ok with it.

By the way........my name is Sarah!

Jul. 25, 2007 at 10:32 AM No I don't like my name. It's damn near unpronouncable. If you can spell it you can't say it. If you can say it you can't spell it. I've stopped correcting people and just told them to call me Reese. It's just easier. My mother named me after my father (Derrick) and came up wit Dericia. I HATE IT! I think it's ghetto, but after they decided not to stay together I found out there was a huge fight about my name, since they thought I was a boy anyway. She wanted to name me Yasmine and he told her he thought the name was too WHITE! Men can be such doofuses. He did the same thing 8 years later with his other girlfriends daughter. She liked Arionna and he didn't. So they shortened it to just Rionna. But her's turned out better than mine. At least people can say it.

Yes, I love my name! The whole thing!

 I can't say the same growing up, kids always had jokes, and by intermediate and Junior high, the boys 

had their fun poking fun at my name. Funny as we get older and things are viewed differently, now people 

I meet say they like my name, and it is different, hmmm.  My name is Charity, and I had a 10 letter last name that was Polish, 9 consanents and 1 vowel, very hard for anyone to pronounce. But I am married to a Latin man now, and my last name is not longer 'complicated', lol.

Jul. 25, 2007 at 10:37 AM I don't like mine at all.  There were a bunch of girls in my high school with my name, but they were all CHEERLEADERS.  There I was...same name, in a trenchcoat.  Not to mention, my mother gave me a first and middle name that if I were to get in trouble, made me sound like I was a hillbilly on a farm.  At least when I got married, my last name moved up in the alphabet, but as for first names...I'm almost glad my kids call me mom.  Okay, minus my oldest...but I'm trying to break her of the habit and needs to call me mom...she's 4 lol.

Jul. 25, 2007 at 2:47 PM Well, during highschool I loved my name because no one had my name!! Yeah, people would always mis pronouce it, but I loved my name. Now, that I am a nurse, I swear every old person I meet had a sister or cousin named Juanita!!! It is funny to me!! My dad use to call me "Junior" because I am named after my mom, her name is Juanita too. I use to hate being called "Lil Nita", and yes family still does that!! MY NAME IS JUANITA!!!!!!!! LOL LOL LOL
