Kiara and her 'crew'

I have been playing D&D for about 9 years now and we only play 2nd edition.  The same group has been playing together the whole time, some people have joined and left finding that as a group we work better together and outsiders tend to get in the way and mess up the works.  Our core group has 4 players in it, there is myself, my husband(JD), my nephew(Jared) and my BIL(Blain)who is blind.  I think the only ones that plays a different class might be JD and Blain, they have been everything, ranger, assassin, thief, warrior,cleric,psyonisist(?spelling?) and so on.  Me I tend to stick with what I know, I am (always) a Mage and I am damn good at it. Jared is always the Cleric.  I have been a Mage for so long that I have created a Spell Compendium, (Kiara's book of functional spells) which includes spells that do everything from mend something to kill it.  Kiara is both my favorite character to play as well as my longest running character.  The campaign that she is in, is an on-going one that started 9 years ago, it consists of Kiara-a mage, Zalib-a cleric (Jared), Kronos-a warrior(JD)and Tarbin-a ranger(Blain) and a TON (12 in all) of NPCs (and the DM of this campaign is Blain).  Blain has said that this campaign is his favorite, but it is also the most mentally exhausting one as well.   We have had some really good times playing D&D.  We are a odd group, we have had good times and bad times.  We have fought as players and characters. As Kiara, I have laughed, and cried(to the point  where the other's have had to take a 30 minute break so that I could gather myself together).  She has been protected from the enemy to the point it was impossible to breath with out someone wanting to know what she was doing, then with one stupid, selfish move was captured by the same enemy, held prisoner and tortured to the point of near death.  She has been the hero, the sidekick, the villain, and the prize.  She fell in love with a man she could not have and fought both by his side and in defense of him in hopes that he would love her back. But when the time came to let the woman that he truly loved (and in turn she despised)die, Kiara instead saved her knowing how it would hurt him if something was to happen to her.  All the while the man that loved her was rejected and pushed to the side. In the past 9 years she has been, the perfect mage,and friend, and at the same time the worst examples of both.  Together they have braved death, War, and happiness.  They where all togather when each (with the exception of Kiara) was married and had children, lost loved ones, and friends.  They where together when Kiara became one of the most highly acclaimed Mages, Kronos became king, and Zalib became the head of his church, they where together for the end of their time and when the DM decided to give them life again.  After everything that they have gone through together I would not trade them for anything.  A lot of great times have been had while playing in this campaign.
