i am 49 ys old growing older has been  a smi sweet  journy. my kids are now grown up all 4 of them are in their 20 yrs of age 3 have left the nest. my memory comes and goes mostly is on vacation.menopause is starting love those mood swings the best part i like is no more monthly periods. my hair is now mostly gray but that alright i have been maried to my husband for 25 yrs. we get along good he watches the tv and i am on the comptuer . now we can set back and wait for the grand kids to start comming. but my kids dont seem all that interested in that yet.. but until the kids start haveing grand kids i will enjoy my 7 dogs and 1 cat. I have alredy told the kids now is ur turn u can enjoy the 2 am feedings changeing the diapers and all the stages that kids go through. I will be here to help but the kids go home when u do. life goes on and we can now stop to smeel the roses. i do miss the sound of little feet, the crying, and the haveing to take this one here that one over there but i dont miss it that much. but i do love each and evryone of them everyday.

everyone have a nice day and give ur kids a hug and a kiss.

Jul. 26, 2007 at 2:52 PM My little one is past so many firsts and is growing up so fast.  The only consolation I have is that I think I'll like WHO he is at most stages.  I hope you are smelling the roses.  I am smelling the potty training.

Jul. 26, 2007 at 3:21 PM My children are 9, 6 and 3. No longer do I have a little baby that needs me for every thing. I am missing that. Now I am at the stage where my children's personalities are taking shape, puberty is beginning, and mom is not needed as much. I have thrown myself into their lives by coaching, teaching, and guiding them through some of the biggest parts of their childhood. I miss their complete innocence. The look on their face first thing in the morning when Mommy looks over their crib. At this time I don't look forward to them moving on and out of my home. I want to be able to hold them in my arms forever.

My children are 21, 20, 14 and 6.  I have enjoyed all the stages of raising my children.  I never thought I would be ready for any of my children to leave home, but everyday of their life and all the stages they go through prepares us for that outcome.  I hope everyone finds parenting as fulfilling as I have.

Jul. 26, 2007 at 7:13 PM I love being a gramma, but I still worry about my kids. They are 21 and 28 but I didnt have them just till they left the home,I had them for life. It is nice to be tied down with them. I thought I missed it,until my grandson came for 5 weeks and gave me a wake up call.I am a gramma, now that makes me happy.

My 2 are 24 and 20. The oldest still at home, working on that one, and the youngest in Iraq. There are times when I see little ones and think boy I sure do miss those days and then I hear one screaming or throwing a temper tantrum and I smile and think boy am I glad I'm past that. Would love grandchildren but don't see any in the near future. I too am enjoying the beginnings of menapause (groan). The mood swings and hot flashes are just a treasure...lol Although aging can be a bitch it's also rewarding in the fact that I've matured and mellowed in so many ways.
