any tips for potty training?

well, i bought my son a potty chair the other day. so far he will sit on it for a few minutes, but when he feels like he has to pee, he will stand up (to be like daddy lol), and he pees on the floor, or the potty chair. any advice for getting him to pee sitting down? i also put the bm from his diaper into the pot so we can flush it down the toilet together and then wash our hands (which he likes a lot....). also, how often should i put him on his potty chair? (we've only been at it for 2 days....)  he doesn't really like to sit still for long (even for looking at tv.) so i thought it would be better if i could try to time it for when he's ready to go. i would really appreciate some advice from some of you that have been there, and done that! thanx :)

Jul. 27, 2007 at 11:52 AM   First have daddy start peeing sitting down and have son go in with him ,,so he learns its okay for a guy to sit down and go...  I always put my girls on the potty turned the faucet on (running water helps the feeling).. And siin songs or read a book together before you know he will go and then you do the potty dance ..lmao lmao

Jun. 19, 2008 at 11:14 AM BJ Wholesale club sells a potty that is actually a urinal.  So the boys can learn to pee standing up like dad.  I think walmart also sells it....you should try that if he is trying to be like dad.
