Cafemom has restored my faith in humanity!

Please people, take the time to read this, is a world where all we tend to hear about are the bad things that happen to people, this is a really great one! This is a post to say thank you, in the most public way I can think of!
About a month ago I started using cafemom, and one of the first groups I joined was the Playschool Preschool Group, and was excited to learn about their free Mr Potatohead offer, I recieved an update telling me to submit my posts to qualify. I dutifully entered my posts, and recieved the message to claim my Potatohead. After filling out the forms, I learned that the offer wasn't valid in Canada, I was to say the least dissapointed. I then wrote a post asking if anyone else was dissapointed that the offer wasn't valid in Canada. I had a few responses including one from "tialisa" who offered to send me one. We corresponded, and I sent her my address, shortly thereafter I got a message from her that she'd sent the package off. Well yesterday, I got the slip telling me my package was in.
This amazing woman took the time out of her day, and money out of her pocket, to help me out. After checking my profile and seeing that I had two boys, she sent me not one Mr Potato Head, but two, one for each of my little guys, and even included three accessory sets, a firefighter, construction man, and a king, all perfect for my boys. I was thrilled to say the least. The whole way home from picking it up, all I could say was "What an amazing woman!" My boys were estatic, and couldn't wait till we got home to rip open the packages and try it all out. There are pieces throughout my entire living room as we speak, as they haven't stopped playing with them.
In this world where all we ever hear about are the negatives, people judging others, the dangers facing us, what a comfort it is to see that people like "tialisa" still exist. All to often we reach out a hand for help, and even the person next to us will turn a blind eye. Here is a perfect stranger, who went out of her way to share some joy with me and my children. If ever there were a time to "pay it forward" it is now. Let this be a lesson to all of us as to what the kindness of strangers can do. I have never been so proud to be a Mom, and so grateful for the people I have met here as I am today. The next time you hear of someone in need, be it small or large, take a moment to think if there is any way you can lend a helping hand. No good deed goes unnoticed.
Please keep this post running, I'd love to have "tialisa" get all the props she deserves for being such a generous, and caring woman, who has brought a smile to all members of my household, as well as everyone that I have told this story to. Thank you again Tia, I only wish there were more people like you around.
As I'm new to cafemom, I don't know what you have to do to get a post "popular", but I'd love for as many people to see this as possible, "tialisa" thanks again, let's all try to do something great today. Even if it's just giving our little ones an extra hug and kiss, and telling them we love them, it will put a smile on their face, and that's what life should be about!

tialisa is just one of the CM angels. I have met many here on CM. I agree that this is the place to find wonderful online friends to share the good and the bad with. I am so glad that your friend brought some joy and shared her bounty with you. Take care and Blessings Be - Robin
