Am I the Only One?

My 30 month old son is, in my opionion, not developing as he should. He cries way too much for his age and he still does not talk as he should be talking at this age. He says "momma" and "daddy" and he understands what I say to him. A very close friend of mine says that he may be acting out since i had my daughter. I had her when my son was 15 months old. My mom says he is just stubborn. This is a major concern of mine. I have a hard time being patient with him because he cries so much. He cries when he wants something instead of asking for it, he cries at bedtime...he cries all the time!!!! Is there anyone else who is going through this?

have you talked to his dr about it? I dont think he is acting out because of you having another child 15months ago!! I dont have any advice at all though..i am sorrry. I would address any concerns to the dr and see what they say :-) good luck!

I actually did and they tested his hearing and said that he was fine as far as his hearing...I also took him to a speech pathologist who stated that he is fine...but I am his mom and it still concerns me...I'm sure all of you moms know how much we worry!!!

katty...
i agree with allisonsmommy about voicing your concerns to his dr and you also have to remember all children develope at differently so what one child does at a certain age another might not  my eldest started speaking at 9 months and my second didnt until she was 2 and a half   i was also concerned but now she talks nonstop         good luck!!!!

AJMom...
I think I would get a second opinion on the hearing. A friend of mine has a daughter who has the same symptoms as your son....not a large vocabulary and crying a lot. Her daughter could hear, but had fluid backup behind her eardrums....dumb dr. said she was fine. When a baby cries, and you feel something is really wrong, there probably is.
