I didn't even think it was possible to be MORE destructive than usual but today they have once again taken it to a whole other level.

My house is such a mess, so I thought that I would try and clean, I haven't been able to do that this week very well because they haven't been taking naps for me.

So I am sweeping the living room when I hear an odd noise coming from the kitchen, I go in there and the boys (who at 18 months have already figured out the child lock on the drawers) have my baggy drawer open and have emptied out a new box of 200 sandwich bags on the floor, well one of them did, the other one had the end of a roll of wax paper and was running with it into the playroom, the long roll trailing behind him.

So I am down picking up that mess when I hear a crash, I turn around and sure enough the twins have opened up the drawer under the oven and are emptying it of its contents!!!

Oh and did I mention that Elijah went in to pee, which I usually let him do by himself, I noticed it was taking a lot longer than usual so I go in to check on him, while STANDING to pee he pooed. He was in the process of "cleaning up" by rubbing it into the rug, he tried to wipe his own butt and had toilet paper sticking out of his crack and the roll, for the better part, lay unrolled on the floor!!!

Oh yeah it's a good day around here!!! Surprisingly they are in better moods so I would have to say so far today is still a better day than yesterday!!!

Is it naptime yet?

Ahh the joys of motherhood! Do you have anybody who can come over and help you, or do your have the financial resources to hire a "mother's helper" to help you out for a few hours a day?  Do you have baby gates to keep them out of the kitchen?   Give them some pots and pans and some spoons, and some stuff they can make a mess with and let them play with it for awhile in a designated spot and that way the mess will be contained to one area.

Sometimes I would put my daughter in her high chair and put a little water on the tray and just let her splash and she loved it!

Aug. 9, 2007 at 1:03 PM HA HA. I don't know why but I couldn't stop laughing.  It wouldn't be funny if it happened to me though so I am sure you aren't laughing.  Hang in there.  Maybe when your hubby gets home you can just go right to bed.

Aug. 9, 2007 at 1:21 PM LOL! Sorry that image in my head just made me laugh! Too cute & funny! But, i know when it's happening it's not so funny! I've had many days like that but with just ONE! I just can't imagine what you go through daily! You are a great Mommy! I know what you mean, not being able to get anything done when they don't take naps. I just hate that!

Aug. 9, 2007 at 3:18 PM Oh, I remeber the days having three under the age of four at once.  Now just one toddler is enough for me! It does get easier, I promise!

Aug. 9, 2007 at 10:25 PM LOL!!! Oh man! The pleasure of having boys!! I'm sorry but I had these big picture in my head with bunches of poop and baggies! To funny! Yea I didn't waste my time with the child proof things for cabniets and doorknobs. Logan proved to me at my brother's house that I would be wasting my money buying those things! lol  Oh, we'll have so many more days like that, just hang in there! :o)
