As a professional Nanny I was convinced I would be the BEST mom in the world.

After all, I had attended Adelle Faber's workshops and even listened to her in person.

I had studied Early Childhood Education, worked for single parents, parents of different income levels. From a mom starting out after divorce to a family that had two nannies and 5 other household staff (we had uniforms). That nanny uniform, is NOT a mom uniform.

The real definition of Motherhood is Sleep Deprivation - well it stops there if you are rich enough to have a full time housekeeper. Not rich ?

The definition is as follows;

Motherhood = sleep deprivation AND LAUNDRY.

To all the mothers having a horrid affair in the middle of the night with your washer and dryer, I offer to you the ongoing blog posts of the Organized Mom - who knows how to save time in her busy life and will pass on to you ideas, tips, suggestions, advice, and a free online organizer system.

I have not yet found a complete solution to laundry. So please send me any ideas you have on how to tackle laundry chaos ( not how to get out stains - but really save time on laundry.)

Sep. 10, 2007 at 2:45 PM I to used to have a problem until I decided to put on one of my favorite CD's put a load of laundry in and continue on with my day (for me I usually did a clean sweep of the house) When that laundry load was done it went directly to the dryer. And in went one more load (usually a load of colors and a load of whites). 30-40 minutes later the dryer beeps I get the clothes out fold and distribute to the appropriate place. Usually by this time my CD is over and I have completed one load of laundry, and have one more about to be finished. Now instead of waiting every other day and being overwhelmed I keep up by doing two loads a day and this keeps my stress level down because it is not so overwhelming. I also get to listen to my favorite music once a day. The key is consistancy and somehow enjoying the task maybe just a little bit.
