Christians, a question you might not like so read at your own risk of being offended

I've been seeing a lot of posts about being a Christian vs. not being one, the devil, atheists and so on. I have one question that I have asked in a couple of these posts and to my knowledge, has not truly been answered.

Christians believe that one needs to believe that Jesus was the messiah and that He was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and that by just asking and believing we're saved right? And that by being saved we will be allowed into the kingdom of heaven once we die right? Further more, if one does not believe and receive Jesus Christ as their savior then they will not be admitted into heaven, but kicked down into the fiery pits of hell right? Fire and brimstone for not believing. Eternal damnation, gnashing of teeth, utter pain and agony for ALL ETERNITY. Am I right so far?

Christians also believe in an omniscient god who is all places at all times and knows all things past, present, and future. We're all God's children and he made us perfect in his image and he knew exactly what he was doing when he made us.

So answer me this: WHY WOULD HE MAKE SINNERS WHO WILL NOT REPENT? If God knows all things past, present and future, wouldn't that mean that he deliberately made souls to feed the fires of hell? Or that he is not truly a perfect God?

This just doesn't make sense to me.

And before you get all huffy, I have tried to believe for so many years. Out of desperation, need, fear, love for my children(don't want them going to hell because of me!)...I just can't grasp how such a loving God can seem so much the opposite.

I have often wondered the same thing... if he knows what the future holds and knows EVERYTHING-then why would he create people that are just going to go to hell.... I could type for forever trying to explain this... and in fact, I have deleted a few times. I think that maybe the people that will never repent are there to show those who will how special and set apart they are from the rest. Who knows. I haven't been to church in so long that when I walk in now, I feel like I am going to burn (not from the "holy ground" but from the glares and questioning of those that remember when I used to go to church all the time... I am now the "sinner" that needs to repent according to them, but honestly, I thought we were supposed to let God be our judge.

And honestly, never before have I understood how a "loving" parent could punish their children unti I had my son. I have to tell him no, I have to draw the lines... it's out of love. I remember being told in church once that God is our Father. He LOVES us, but he will stil punish those who need punishment. There are many parents who have/have had children that will/have done things that have been wrong (I am NOT saying I obeyed my parents perfectly...) and as much as we love them, we still have to allow them to be punished. I think it's a little like that, I don't know how to make sense of it, but that is the best I can come up with. Hope that helps a little.

worme...

I believe that God gives us all choices to make and it is up to us to make the "right" choices.  It is not always easy to know the right thing to do.  I have found that if I pray for help in making those choices it helps me.

I dont think it will work if you try to believe, I think wither you believe or you don't, it is a faith.  It can't just be turned on or off based on your feelings at that moment.

God is there to help all of us if you put your faith and trust in him.

I am by no means an expert on any of this, these are just my feelings and beliefs.  I hope they may help you.

Scoob...

I once myself questioned. If God knows everything, then why bother and go through the whole process. God knows where our fate lies BUT we still do not. We were made in his image perfect. And since God does know everything, He provided a way. In the truth of His Son, God in the flesh. It is not of His will for us to be lost. He loves us and as He knows everything

He still gave us a choice. It's not really a question of choose Him or go to Hell. It's choose Him and have life. Not just in heaven. Because while we are living this life here and with all the hurt and pain of it all , I am glad I have a Savior to call. When the difficulties of life come....oh I close my eyes and look to the heavens of my heart. The heart of which God knows and loves.

Life is so full of situations and circumstances that one would rather not go through and deal with any of it. a lot of doubt comes through because people wonder

 IF

there was a God, then why any of this.. But I choose God not to escape some hell BUT to have life here on earth everyday with a relationship with my Heavenly Father.

When my brother was murdered by his ex-girlfriend, He was there. When my mother died of Cancer, I went through 5 years of a breakdown and never realized it. I wasn't close to God at all, I was angry. Till one day I was at work crying,  in the bathroom, and I couldn't stop. I cried out to God and said "help me" That's all I could get out.

Then all of a sudden, I could hear my choir singing that song, "I go to the Rock"...who do I lean on....I...go...to...the ...rock...of..my..salvation. And at that moment the burden of my heart was lifted.

When my baby sister also go the ultimate healing from Cancer, I was so hard. It shook my world, We were very close.

But God  has been my rock in everything. No we are not going to understand everything, explain everything, cause really

do we really know that light goes off in our refrigerator:)

Now church folks that;s another story. Chritianz that judge that's another story. We will never be perfect. BUT Having

a one on one relationship with God that's my story. I don't care what people think of me. I care what God thinks of me. People can throw scriptures at me. They can point fingers at me, they can look at me cross-sided, but you know what, THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THE RELATIONSHIP I HAVE WITH HIM AND IT IS SWEET EVERYDAY.

I live my life everyday in peace. Any problem I have I talk to God because you know, we can do that. You can talk to Him like you talk to any one else. If we are still we can hear the softness of His voice.

We can dwell on" why do I have to choose God or go to Hell, I did in a period in my life BUT God has proven to me time and time again of HIs Love.

And I choose that...

His LOVE

...this may not give you what you seek, but it reminds me once again, Why I love Him so.-Thank you

weaze...

to me being a christian doesn't mean you have to be baptised, or say jesus is your personal savior exactly

being a christian means being a believer not necessarily part of the religious crap(aka the condemning, judging, etc)

I think you just need to know that God has to do with every aspect of your life. Whether it's that he answered your prayer or he gave you the freedom to choose to love him or not.

You may ask.. then why does God have people die in wars.. i believe that is Satan but God does his part to make sure some good comes out of it in the end.

If there wasn't pain we wouldn't need God. If we had all the money in the world.. we wouldn't need God.

Have you seen the movie DOGMA? I think that is a great outlook on who God is.
