I always said Nylah was a Daddy's Girl, but now it is official. This is a Dada's Girl if there ever was one!
I remember when she was very small... she used to cry when he held her!! Only mommy could touch her, lol. She would push and shove him away, lol. He used to be a little hurt, but we knew this was natural for very small babies (like newborn) so we didn't worry... we knew she would change and warm up to her daddy and others soon.
And she did! Now, as soon as she opens her eyes in the morning, she jumps up and starts looking for DADDY.
When he comes home from work, she dances a jig in the middle of the carpet, and then runs up and grabs him around the legs!
When he is gone in the day, and she hears a jingle of keys in the hallway (of apartment building), my little smart one runs to the front door and knocks on it from the inside, shouting, "DA DA!!" in no uncertain terms!
And now.... when we are out and my hubby wants to run into a store or fill the gas, she starts to cry! Awww.... it makes me laugh and feel sorry at the same time, lol. As she watches his big back walking away into the gas station... she pokes her lower lip WAY out, her eyes get bigger and bigger, and I see the little tears welling up. And when I look at her, she opens her mouth as big as she can and starts to sob for DADDY!!! LOL. My poor duckling.
The kicker is --- when I leave the car or go out while she is home with him, she doesn't make a peep!! Now, ain't that something? She can cry for DADA but not for Mama?? Hey.... what is going on around here.
LOL.
