My beautiful seal point queen, Kahlua, would not go into heat. She did once when she was 11 months old and I bred her but it didn't take. She never went into heat again. I decided to send her with my breeder-mentor to try to get her bred there. (My stud sometimes takes too long and is too  nice.) I was hesitant to let her go, but decided it would be best. I figured she would be home in a couple weeks, maybe a month at the most. That was at the end of June. I have e-mailed regularly to find out her status only to find there had been no change. I have been busy and didn't check in for over a week. This morning I got an e-mail that she is dying! I am so upset and depressed. I know that there is probably nothing that my mentor did wrong. After all she's been breeding a long time... but still... I have to wonder if this would have happened if I had kept her at home and been patient! Is it my fault?

I really just want to cry.

 Hi!!

I saw a link to your cattery and went to check it out.  You have some awesome babies, they are just adorable.  It is obvious from the testamonies that you take excellent care of them in a loving environment.  I know how you feel though, it is as if they are one of your children.  You would put blame on yourself regardless but I think whatever it is, it would have happened either at your place or your mentor's.  I hope that whatever is wrong with her that she can overcome it and come home.  Maybe she was just made to be a kittie and not breed.  And that's OK.

You have my prayers!!

I am so sorry.  I just purchased nine persians for my 50th and have not bred any yet.  I am concerned.  Why is it dying?
