MamaCass07's Journal

Just a few ideas and opinions.

Apparently burning his hand was not enough for him.

This morning the poor guy very mildly busted his lip open I am assuming with his bottom 2 teeth. So, of course that hurts, along with his second tooth that has finally broken through and is still tender. Next thing I know there is a red mark on his head from who knows what, though, I am learning to just get used to the head bumps. Nothing I do can stop that at this point. Now, he gets up from his nap and has this huge red scraped and bruised area on the upper part of his left leg, which I am guessing came from the desk when he tried to stand up and was still partly under it, though, I never noticed it before nap time.

I swear, it is a miracle this child does not get more seriously hurt! Am I doing something wrong? I watch him like a hawk, and do my best to baby-proof. Arhgh!

Aug. 21, 2007 at 12:22 PM You are doing nothing wrong! Poor little guy. Sounds like my kids. Alyssa fell when she was 6 months old and knocked her two bottom teeth out. Talk about feeling like a crappy Mom. She was using one of those kiddy chairs to hold herself up on, fell backwards, and bumped her mouth. I was on my way to get her away from the chair. Had I gotten up a second sooner, she would still have those toofers!  I cried and cried. She was fine 2 seconds after it happened! It is a miracle that kids make it I think.

Aug. 21, 2007 at 12:46 PM Sounds like all of my boys!!  Just wait until he starts purposfully banging his head on the wall, all three of mine love doing that!!  (Elijah is starting to outgrow it finally!)  Elijah has been the the ER twice already and then, well, you know about JO!!  Boys are just tougher on themselves than girls are, in my opinion.  I see my boys and my nephew doing things that my niece would never have dreamed of doing!!!  Good luck and may I say start stocking up on band aids now!!!!

Aug. 21, 2007 at 12:54 PM I tell my hubbie that I can't put her in a bubble, he will just have to get use to her bumping, falling, scarpes, bruises.  I does make you feel bad, but they are ok.  They have to learn.  Emma bangs her head on the kitchen table.  She walks under it and usually squats down to walk under it, but lately she just keeps walking and wam!  She gest little scratches from anything.

Aug. 21, 2007 at 3:10 PM AWW, poor little guy! So sorry he's been getting so bruised up lately! It's not your fault, boys will be boys! I am surprised Aiden hasn't gotten any major cuts or anything, but he sure bumps his head alot and falls alot! I always freak out and he just gets up like nothing happened! LOL!!! He is a tough little guy! :D

Aug. 21, 2007 at 5:46 PM Aiden busted his lip today, too! And I honestly have no idea how it happened. He fell while trying to get past a barracade to get to my computer cord, and I thought he hit his head (again!). But then I noticed his lip was a little bloody. As if it isn't already hard enough to get him to nurse during the day, we certainly don't need pain! All we can do is watch them as closely as possible, but owies will still happen.

Aug. 26, 2007 at 2:23 PM You're doing everything right.  Shit happens and you can't do anything about it most of the time...so just keep up the good work and buy stock in tripple antibiotic and bandaids.  He'll grow out of it...when he's an adult!

Sep. 4, 2007 at 3:38 PM Sounds like Madison to a t! Every time I turn around she has a new scratch or something. It never fails. Most of hers come from her getting ticked off and headbutting the floor. (Which is a big no no in my book so we are trying to get that under control.)
