I wuf you mom

My little girl Noelle can be a bit stubborn and strong willed at times and by tonight, after dinner I was just plain tired.  Not so much physically, although I get that way at the end of the day too but tired in the brain.  Maybe it's an emotional fatigue.  My mom has a French saying for it that doesn't translate well into English, but I think it fits.  When she is tired that way she says "my head is square!"  Well, that was me tonight.

I had decided to take my evening walk alone tonight, my hubby was tired and wanted to stay in so instead of popping Noelle into the stroller and doing a family walk as we often do, all I thought of was escape.  I would walk alone tonight, unencumbered and uninhibited!  I explained to Noelle that she would be staying with daddy and started to put on my shoes.  Noelle plopped up on my bed, gave me a totally innocent smile and said softly, "I wuf you mom."

How long, I ask you , does it take a heart to melt?  Needless to say I did not walk alone tonight, and my darling little girl and I enjoyed every minute of it.
