We have officially established a bedtime routine that is working and has been consistantly working for a few weeks now. I take Haidie for a walk in her stroller for about an hour starting at 8pm. The evening is cooler than the heat of the day so we can really enjoy it. When we get home I run a warm bath and her and I jump in for 10-15 minutes, she loves to play in the water. Justin puts on her baby lotion, and gets her warm jammies on while I finish showering off, and then I nurse her until she passes out. She's out by 10-10:30pm every night and sleeps until about 5-5:30am, wakes up to nurse, then goes back to sleep until 9. I love it! I have been dreaming every night again, something I missed while pregnant and the newborn stage because I was waking up so frequently. Ahh.... life is just gravy.

Guara...
Aug. 23, 2007 at 12:05 PM gosh i wish my son would have done that! he's 10 months old now, and we're just getting him into a real bedtime routine. he is so stubborn! i used to be able to nurse him to sleep, but now he nurses and pops back up, ready to play. we're doing the jammies, dimmed lights, bedtime story, nursing and lullabyes. it's been working pretty well except a couple nights ago, he just fought it so hard. i hated to do it, but i had to leave him in his crib, wide awake, and let him fuss himself to sleep.
