My wife and I have been married for a year and half now.We have an amazing 8 month old daughter who is our entire world. I found this site to meet other families who are like us, or don't care that we are an alternative family. We are struggling currently with the fact that the state we live in won't allow her to adopt our daughter. Shouldn't it be enough that she has two parents that want her, that love her, that would do anything for her and would never hurt her?

i agree.  to me, life is short, if you can find someone to love, that loves you back, and no one gets hurt, more power to ya.  and if you can give a stble loving home to a child, even better.

i'm about the polar opposite of your sitch, heteromarried catholic mom of 2, but the above is my true thoughts on things.  welcome and hope you find the acceptance you seek!

I have no idea how I found your page, completely by accident I think, but I read your journal and just had to post.  I am so happy for your daughter.  How wonderful that she has two parents that love her dearly.  I teach Kindergarten in a tough neighborhood, and can see first hand how much better life would be for many of my kids if only they had two responsible loving parents on their side.  It is a shame!

Buy the way, I too am a Hetero/married catholic mom of one.  I thought it was funny that I matched the above post (and by odd coincidence she is on my friends list).  I don't know what your thoughts on God are, but for what it is worth to you, you and your family, and the many like you will be in my prayers.

Aug. 31, 2007 at 11:10 PM Hi there! Thanks for the add! What state are you in that they won't allow that? I'm so terrified of that happening. My partner and I hope to get prego next year sometime and go through the adoption process, I'm scared though. I've met some pretty cool gals on here who've been helpful to talk to. I'm looking forward to chatting with you :)
