Believe me, daycare is NOT hell on earth for children. It is actually really fun! And, kids learn some really valuable skills that may benefit you in ways you may never think of! Take for instance, learning to take a nap on the floor in semi-loud and semi-bright conditions. That ALWAYS helps when you get stuck in an airport or when you are at a wedding reception that will never end and your tipsy husband refuses to leave because you lost at rock/scissors/paper and got to be the designated driver for the evening! Who knew?!?!?!
I love and appreciate the time, patience, talents and dedication of childcare employees and childcare business owners. If you haven't thanked your childcare provider lately, it might be nice to remind them you really appreciate them today.
So, then, if you are thinking about childcare, need childcare, or want to reevaluate your current childcare, here are some places on the good old world wide web that I found to be interesting, helpful or a little bit of both. Click on the link below for government and commercial childcare resources...sites include resources for parents caring for children with disabilities and there is a site for childcare resources for children of deployed military personnel.

I also agree! It is so important for children to learn socialization skills! Interacting with other children is an important part of learning and development! This helps them learn how to share, learn patience and compassion for other children. Also the fact that there are different races and cultural experiences. Also structure! Routine helps children feel secure and gives them a sense of belonging. And so much more!
Just dont feel bad asking questions when deciding on childcare! Ask if they do abc;s or how they handle discipline! Do your homework (write down all pro's and cons!)
Be selective and you will no doubt feel you made the right decision! My 4 year old sons loves school , his friends and showing me his homework! He has been in childcare since he was around 4 months old. He is extremely intelligent and well adjusted and I owe a good part of that to the educators he has had!

Very true..I had my 3 oldest in the same daycare for a couple of years while I was in college and they loved it. They had a graduation ceremony for them before they left, they learned quite abit there. The daycare also had a christian elementay school attached to it so my children also had a time where they were educated along with playtime, naptime, etc.. The key is definely finding the right one to suit you and your childs needs.
