When I was barely 20-years-old, I picked up and moved from Ann Arbor (Michigan) to Portland (Oregon) on a Greyhound Bus. The trip took almost 3 full days and we stopped in cities like Chicago (Illinois), Omaha (Nebraska), Salt Lake City (Utah) and Boise (Idaho).
Those were the longest three days of my life. I met all sorts of characters including two young men who had been kicked out of the Navy, a future Spanish-speaking penpal and many oddballs, potheads and sex maniacs.
My journals of the trip can be found at: http://bowlinghottie.blogspot.com/2005/05/greyhound-memoirs.html
