I cant believe it! Yesterday was Zachary's very first birthday! All day I kept looking at the clock thinking one year ago today I didnt think I was going to come out of the delivery room alive (there were no complications, I just wanted to die because I was in so much pain!) . 3:30 pm, I'm yelling at Daddy, 4:00 pm time to start pushing (or so I think- I was delirious at this point) and 4:57 pm little Zachary came into the world screaming and pooping. Not much has changed on that end! The little peanut I brought home and rocked endlessly doesnt want to sit on my lap for more than a minute- there is way too much to explore and get into. The little snugly bug that I used to swaddle in blankets and cuddle with while we slept now picks my nose and tries to pry my eyes open while I'm sleeping! (he doesnt sleep with me but every once in a while I get the crazy idea he will go to sleep if I lay with him) He no longer has a waa waa waa waa cry to tell me he's not happy, now he screams an ear piercing mind penetrating shriek and throws something. And why do we want our kids to grow up? I'm a little sad, I guess it's bitter sweet to see him grow and learn. To watch him stack things on top of eachother instead of aimlessly shaking a rattle and bonking himself in the face over and over. To watch him pick up his food with his chubby little fingers instead of spitting it back at me when I'm trying to spoon feed him. He now points at what he wants, climbs up stairs, and is just so proud of himself when he puts his toys away. (yes ladies, he puts his own toys away- he loves throwing everything into the toy box, and does a pretty good job of it!) Well I dont care how old he gets, or how much he learns- he will always be my baby boy!

His party is Sunday- I'll post some pics!

You're making me teary!!! Jaydon is going to be 1 the 25th of this month. I, like you, can't hardly believe how time has flown by. They are tiny babies no longer. How sad. Wahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! But on a positive note...Happy Birthday Zachary! You're such a big boy! I can't wait to see the picture's of his party.

I was looking forward to my son's first birthday, but we just found out that my hubby has to go away to Military school and won't be here for it. I'm almost glad the first year will be over, but at the same time the new things that my son will experience and the next two months of me taking care of him alone are going to seem like an eternity. My son doesn't turn 1 for another month, but I swear this year has just flown by.

Good luck with your next year with your son. All the new experiences should be exciting.
