I would never have thought I could spend $50 on an annual 3-person family pass and get so much at the Children's Museum. There's a toddler play area for up to 2 years of age. WOW. It's worth the $50 alone... The crafts, coloring, drawing, construction activities, and face painting are everywhere. You've got to go! It's $5/person. Children under 2 are free.
There is a cow the kids can milk. An incubator houses live chicks. The incredible recreated Oaxacan village is so culturally enlightening that I have to mention the anthropologist in me wanted to spend a lot of time there. My daughter ran around and around playing with the plastic vegetables in the pueblo. The children could pretend to make tortillas with plastic tortillas. And the adjacent super market has food, baskets, and money for the children to SHOP. I didn't even make it upstairs. Our two-year olds pooped out about noon.
And the cafe has tons of healthy kid food items on the menu. The food was VERY reasonable. I think whole milk was less than a dollar. If you haven't visited the Children's Museum, it's worth taking children of any age. Park on a side street where you can find free parking on the curb. That makes the trip an even better deal. There was plenty of free parking on Saturday at 9 AM.
Happy adventuring...
