There's something to be said about being a mother during potty training ... and I just never got it before. I have been so proud of acacia lately because of her willingness and desire to use the "potty" and not just the elmo potty, the regular one. Tonight at bathtime she said, "I wanna go on the potty mommy." so I told her to climb up... which she did by yanking herself up by the toilet paper holder. A few minutes later she started saying the phrase, "there's something in my butt" over and over again... so thinking that she just didn't know how to say that she had to poop clearly I said back, "you have to poop" and she said yes... a couple minutes later she jumped off of the toilet and into the tub while I wasn't looking.... next thing I know she's saying, "there's poop in the tub mommy" indeed there actually was something in her butt. and she wasn't needing clarification... she was just being oh so literal..... so anyways... as I was saying - there's something to be said about being a mother. You can kiss away owies, you can run and drive "really really fast" and you can willingly, and without question.... fish poop out of a bathtub only to later go on in the night to find yourself drinking merlot out of your child size cup and praying for the strength to fall asleep.
that's class.
