Potty Training ***DAY ONE***

OK So I keep reading posts about potty training... n some won't think this is progress, but for me it is for my son!

He went pee pee only 6 times today... missed the potty 4 of those times. He goes maybe every 2-4 hours. Stays dry during naps n at night (but just got pull ups today JUST FOR nap n bed time) But I put him in big boy underwear... he did good, but when Blue's Clues is on... he refuses to try to go, I was getting him on every 15 minutes until then. When my mom got home he loved the potty and would sit on it, even when she wasn't around. But he's holding his bladder well... I'm trying to see if he has a "Schedule" sort of way b/c he went to the store... no accidents tho I put a diaper over his underwear JUST IN CASE! That made it about 8 hours w/ out no peeing... but I DID PUT HIM ON THE POTTY often after his nap!!! And then when he wouldn't go before bed... it was an hour before bed... I took him to my room and we watched tv and I put a towel under his butt b/c I KNEW HE HAD TO GO... He ate an ice pop, n drank a full sippy during this time. But I took him to the bathroom 15 minutes before for his bath and tried putting him on the potty but he refused, he wanted his bath so I put him in there (he doesn't have water for his bath, I let the water run b/c he's very fusy about it) and he peed in the tub... and I thought that was great of him b/c 1... he held his bladder w/ no problems... n 2 some boys learn like that... as long as his pants are dry... if he wants to pee in the tub before his bath... so be it... if he wants the potty... GREAT... if he wants outside... well then thats what he's going to do. It means no diapers for me to buy! He doesn't tell me when he has to go but I ask him every 10 minutes or so even tho he says no, but tonight I know he knew he had to go b/c he wouldn't tell me no... he just said Pee pee pee all over and over again... n I would of course take him to the potty but he wouldn't go... but its a start right?? A good start to me and I'm very proud of him!! :-D We just bought a box of diapers and I'm about to return them b/c he will learn. Tomorrow we have another full day of the potty and then Thursday I have 2 diff. appts I can't miss but I will be on top of him to go pee pee even if I have to pull over the side of the road... I'm commited to him going potty in the potty! lol haha!!
