Ok, First let me start by saying, I'm not Christian. I'm also not an Atheist, Wiccan, Jewish, Muslim, Hindi, Buddhist, Satanist, or any other major religion. I am my own religion. Let me explain.
I often say, to Christians, I don't believe in Your God. Technically I don't really, BUT I also believe that "technically" all Gods are one, just everyone has a different way of following that God(s). I should probably say that I don't believe in your following of God, but it tends to lead to confusion. I believe in parts of all religions, and disagree with parts of all religions. Confused yet? LOL, I'll give a rundown :
I believe that there is a Father in Heaven.
I don't believe in Original Sin.
I believe in Lilith.
I don't believe in the Bible.
I believe the Holy Trinity is The Maiden, The Mother, The Crone.
I don't believe that women were created from man.
I believe women were created first, in the image of the mother.
I believe that Mother Earth is the wife of the Father in Heaven, and we are their children.
I believe that natural disasters are warnings. (i also believe in Global Warning, but that it a whole other debate)
I believe in Karma/The Rule of Three
I believe that the Mother and Father don't care whom we love.
I believe in reincarnation.
I believe your Heaven is personal, and my Heaven will be different from yours, yours will be different than the next persons, and so on....
I don't believe that we are the masters of animals, I believe that we are here to care for them.
I believe that there should be more involved with prayer than just talking.
I believe that everything happens for a reason.
I believe that you are given signs in life on which path to travel.
I don't believe in the expression "So and So died before their time", if someone dies, that is their time. There is a purpose to that person dying at that time.
I don't believe in Church.
This is my religion. I don't care if people believe what I believe. I would rather people not believe exactly what I believe. We were all created different, and religion is a very personal thing. I would, however, like for people to respect the fact, that I don't believe in what you believe.
Comments:
aww...thank you.
I'm glad that you were able to identify with my post.
If I still went to church, and I heard a Pastor say that, I probably would have done the same thing!!!
You know, I didn't know or understand probably a third of what you believe in....and that is totally okay, because I don't expect you to be in my back pocket and just "say what I say"....
The two of us may be very different, but we're also very similar. My faith tells me the greatest command is to Love One Another...if all Christians focused on that instead of judging each other, what a beautiful world this would be!!
(Okay, just cause I'm so curious, who the heck is Lilith??)
According to the Jewish religions (as far as I know) Lilith was created before Eve. She wasn't made from Adam's rib. She was kicked out of Eden for wanting to be on top during sex. Basically meaning she wanted to be treated as an equal. Adam didn't like it, so she was banished from Eden, and God created Eve to be more subservient. It Christian mythology, she is considered a demon.
