So now I need to rant and vent!!

My son's 1st bday is on the 14th so we are having his party tomorrow (2/10), which is my nephews 7th bday.  Checked with family to make sure they weren't planning anything for his bday and they weren't.  So I sent out invites with day, time and place.  Sis-in-law calls and says that's her son's actual bday so they want to do something for him that day.  Fine - that's understandable.  Well, in talking to my mom I learn that his party is now at the same time as my sons.  I'm really annoyed that she would make it at the exact same time as our party - knowing when our party was.  I understand that we could have made it a different day, but why did she have to the same time?!  So now my family gets to scramble to get to two different parties.  And did I mention that she never did officially invite us?!  Granted, I'm sure she knows we won't be going since it's the exact same times as my son's party (I might have mentioned that before!!).

Thanks for letting me vent!  I feel like I"m being a petty bit*h!!!  :)/

If it were me I would call her up and ask her why she made it for hte same time as your party?  Is she that insecure that she thinks your child will get more gifts than her child will?    Im so glad I dont have sister in laws!!!!

Feb. 9, 2007 at 1:10 PM WOW... You know what... first birthdays are pretty special, and she sounds like she just wanted to try to one up you... I would tell people to make an exception, especially when you put the time and effort into sending invites and she obviously didn't! People should spend a little more time at your, well that is what I would do anyways!

I really hate people that do that sort of stuff...I mean I can see where she is coming from since it is her son's b-day, but she could have called and asked you to maybe do a joint party for the both of them instead of trying to sabotage your plans after everyone ok'd it to start with. I know how special it is for you with your son's first b-day and all, but he is not going to care less about it let alone remember it. And then you both could have been happy.

My son's b-day party is tomorrow as well and his actual b-day is on the 14th too. Our little sweet hearts. We will always have a little Valentine forever.
