movie review-Knocked Up

This movie is a total STINKER!!! I was excited to watch it because I love the 40 Year Old Virgin and this was made by that same group. Well just because they made one good movie doesn't mean that all of them will be winners, I guess, cuz this one sucked.

The two main characters have zero chemistry. I didn't buy that they even LIKED each other, let alone LOVED each other. She gets pregnant because the guy is an idiot and purposely doesn't wear a condom. So she probably got a few STDs as well as pregnant from their one night stand. The jokes in the rest of the movie are mostly offensive, not funny. I would try to give some specific examples here but then I'd have to watch it again and I don't feel like torturing myself today!

Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd seem like they're just hanging out insulting each other the whole movie, the way they did in 40 Yr Old Virgin.  It bugs me when I see actors playing the same role over and over in every movie they do.  VINCE VAUGHN I'M TALKING TO YOU!  But V.V. is funny to me so he gets a pass.

The movie does end on a good note but it's just too Hollywood Happy Ending for me. Maybe if I wasn't a new mom going through the REALITY of having a baby and taking care of a relationship the movie would have been funny to me.
