over the last 8 months i have become somewhat disgusted with myself, it seems that the kids and i sit around the house and do nothing and i hate that its not fair to them or is it healthy for any of us not to get out and enjoy the fresh air. so this is my october resolution(didn't want to wait til january) i want to start walking everyday that the weather permits until i am supposed to leave for dallas which is mid november and then i will be back in mid january. if any of you ladies are interested in joining me plese let me know and maybe the days that weather is not nice we can arrange to have an inside play date.

i am going to try very hard to stick to this i would love to lose this baby weight that i have been holding onto for the last 4 years, plus it would give my kids a great oppurtunity to meet other kids bc they have been socially deprived. so if any of yall feel like me and would like to join me please let me know, you can get me on here or my yahoo id is smokeyjaysgirl@yahoo.com. i am starting today after the little one wakes up from his nap we are going to the park, we are also planning on going tomorrow.

That's a very good idea and if I had the opportunity I would join you.  However, since I run a home daycare taking care of 6 under 3 years old, it really doesn't leave me any opportunities to get off of my property very often.  We have to take our walks when my numbers are down because there is only one of me :))  I would love to be a stay-at-home mom (with only my kids) and join in playgroups, outings, etc.  So until then, I hope you're able to get a great group together and meet your personal goals!  Good luck!

Sep. 30, 2007 at 9:48 AM I'm game! Give me a holler and let me know where or when. Wednesdays are bad for me. And for Camsmommy515, my Family Connections nurse and PAT educator both say it's never too young to start your kids with playgroups. It's not just for the baby, it's for you too. Plus the baby gets to see other social interactions and all kinds of stuff. I started taking myson when he was 3 or 4 months.

Oct. 1, 2007 at 12:07 AM I would love to. I am trying to get rid of some baby weight and Kenzie enjoys the fresh air. Whenever we try and go for walks we usually get overrun with college students..lol. I have 2 small dogs(who are excellant with kids) so maybe I could bring them. Ok, well let me know.

Well first I have to apologize for not getting back with you about the playgroup, it's been pretty hectic here lately. Between Kenzie's doctor appt's, and a trip to Colorado it's been just crazy. Anyways, my neighbor has her two boys in Parents as Teachers. It's a free program and a lady from the school comes out to do an intellectual activity with your kid(s) every 5 weeks. They have a bit of a waiting list, but if you were interested I have their number. I know they also do playgroups for different ages on different days of the week.

Feb. 6, 2008 at 6:34 PM Hi I just joined this group. I would love to do this. I know it's pretty cold out right now so maybe we could find something like walking through the mall on days that are to cold. I willing to try anything at this point. All I do is set in this house which is driving me & my kids crazy.
Hope to hear back from ya, Melissa :)
