Ok, so I have been really thinking of this a lot lately. I used to have my own catering company when I lived in CO, and I absolutely LOVE to cook! If I could be barefoot, padding around my kitchen, cooking all day....I would be in HEAVEN! The fact that I am pregnant right now, kind of makes me a stereo-type!
I will be 38 on October 14th, and have worked all my life...from flying for the Air Force during Desert Storm (I was a boom operator), to an accountant for 14 years. One of my "conditions" to get pregnant this late in life, was that I wanted to be able to finally stay home with my baby and enjoy her. But, I am also not stupid, and realize that we have to keep the money coming in too. I will be going after my real estate license after Victoria is born.
But, what I have been really thinking about is this....a "Meals for Mom" catering company. I would offer a variety of meals, fully prepared by me, and including "lighter" dishes, as well. This would be especially helpful for new moms who can't really bother with cooking after first coming home from the hospital, and the daddy's who would get to eat something other than just pizza. I could price it by a per day basis, with discounts for those who choose the week package. I would deliver the meals in freezer containers, ready to be heated and served. This could be something that a family member could purchase for the new parents as a gift to be used at any time. Or something the new father could get for his family as extra help. I could even offer to cook one of the meals in the family's home or show them how to make a dish, for those who really dont know how to cook.
What do you gals think? Do you think this would be something that would appeal to enough people? Let me know your ideas and if this is something that YOU would appreciate if offered to you? Or am I just out of my mind? Thank you ladies!!!

Heck yeah..but it would have to be locally only if you go in and cook for them, maybe you could also think about preparing dishes that could be frozen and all they need to do is heat up..Sounds like you could be on to something...
I have a friend who does that and she loves it! Her husband is a pilot and she wants to be home for her kids, so she is a personal chef. She calls it Deliciously Delivered!
Sounds like a great idea just have to make sure you live in an area with people who have disposable income to do something like that.
Good luck!
Good Luck with it!
