Last week I found out that I was going to be able to have the home birth I've wanted throughout this entire pregnancy!  I'm so excited!  My hubby is a little freaked out, but I think he'll get excited too.  I appreciate that he understands how much this means to me.  Our children are so excited too!  It is so much fun to talk to them about it.  They can't believe that they will be able to see her being born.  When our five year old heard that we were going to be able to have a home birth, he said, "I'm so happy!  This won't be just a birth like when you had Joseph.  This will be so much more exciting!!!"  He was practically jumping up and down.  Joseph was born on his birthday.  But the whole time he was in the room, he kept having to worry about bumping my IV and not being able to snuggle with me like he wanted to.  I just love the thought of bringing our baby into a comforting environment that will already be home instead of the cold, clinical atmosphere of the hospital.  I've been praying and wishing and hoping for this for so many months!  I feel like such a weight has been lifted off my shoulders!  Thanks to everyone who has been praying with me!

Oct. 2, 2007 at 5:35 PM Home births do not have to be water births.  I plan on laboring in the water, but she will be born where ever I am at the time (preferably not in bed! : ) )  And actually, home births are much better, germ-wise, than hospital births.  Hospitals are so dirty and are infested with drug resistant germs.  One in four people who are admitted in the hospital come out with an infection.  Kinda scary if you ask me!

Oct. 4, 2007 at 2:57 PM Oh I'm so excited and relieved for you- I know you've been relaly wanting this.  I am SO JEALOUS- I'm way too highrisk for homebirth, and I am SO disappointed that I never will be able to.  Let me know if you want my SILs email address- she's the one who hd their first at the hospital, but the one she had at the end of Summer was at home.- she was SO PROUD and it went so well- no meds, no interference... I think you'll really enjoy it and be glad you did!!

I'm so sorry that I'm just now seeing this.  I am excited beyond words for you!  I know that weight being lifted feeling has got to be great!  Please let me know if you need ANYTHING!  Even if you just need support when you are laboring, or someone to pray with you while laboring, I am here.  I can give you my phone number if you'd like.

Please take care sweetie!  I love you!
