Bush Vetoes Child Health Insurance Plan~

Dear Angela,

 

President Bush blocked health care for 10 million kids.
Tell Congress to fight back.

 With one stroke of his veto pen, President Bush lashed out today at the youngest among us. Well, we’re going to fight back – and we need your help to do it.

First, check out the new ad we made about the veto. It features real kids who could benefit from CHIP...if President Bush would let them.

You’re the first to see this ad. We need your help so that as many other people as possible see it, too. Please forward to your friends and family, and ask them to do the same.

Second, sign our petition urging Congress to fight back and overturn President Bush's veto. Unfortunately for him, the President doesn't get the last word. We do.

In the coming days, the bill will return to Congress for a vote to override his veto. At last count, we were still about two dozen votes short of the amount needed to defeat the veto in the House of Representatives.

The majority of American voters support an expansion of children’s health coverage according to recent polls – including voters in Republican-held districts. So why do Republicans in Congress continue to ignore their constituents and stand by the President to block children’s health?
