what is the deal with people thinking overturning Roe vs. Wade is a good idea?  how could any person ever want to make it impossible for a woman to have safe and legal access to an abortion?  i just don't get it.  do you all think it would better if a woman in a hard situation had to meet a suspect person with a wire hanger? i mean, we have all seen dirty dancing and what happened to penny.... (terrible example but you get what i am saying) why is a woman's health issue at the center of nation politics anyways? isn't the government mostly run by men? why do they get a say in what i can and can't do with my body>  isn't this totally opposite of what many of you birth advocates out there are fighting for in terms of freedom of choice in birth?  if a woman feels that the best thing for her is to abort her baby, why should we make that ridiculously hard choice any harder by making finding a practitioner almost impossible.  consider states like new jersey where home birth is illegal.  you have to know someone who knows someone  who can possible set you up with someone who knows a midwife... and then if it becomes necessary to transport, that midwife has to dissapear out of the picture... is that the kind of care that women who feel they don't have another option but to abort should be getting?  where is the care and understanding?  before i had a baby i was absolutely pro-life - how could anyone ever do something so terrible?  but now i know the toll that being pregnant and being a mother takes on your life and how hard it would be to do without a partner and family support and now i know that ideals are just that and every woman should have the choice.  give me a break.  why can't we all just support eachother instead of pointing fingers and encouraging voting for a candidate that will overturn a law that makes it possible for women to control their own future. give me a frikken break here...

Jan. 22, 2008 at 11:12 AM I think murder is wrong, too.  And I think abortion is wrong, too.  But I don't presume to believe I should be making those decisions for anyone else.  I'll never do it.   I'd be very upset with my daughters if they were to do it.  but I definitely do NOT think the gov or anyone else has a right to make that decision for anyone else.
