Ok here is the problem.  With my daughter Paige I had a very long and hard labor 5 days to be exact.  When I finally was able to get the nurses to understand what was going on in my body I was exhausted.  I got and epideral and it didn't work.  They gave me another and it didn't work.  Well I had to push any how right???  So I'm pushing  for 2 1/2 hrs and the nurses are getting pissed because I can't seem to get Paige to come past a certain spot.  Well my doctor comes in right looks at me and was like something isn't right!!!  So he is feeling around her head and neck and pushes her back up a little and tells the nurses to look at what they were doing!!!  I saw their faces and I knew something was wrong.  My tail bone is broken into a hook shape that pushes into my vaginal area.  Well when I was pushing I got her head past it and her neck and sholders got stuck on this hook.  I couldn't have ever gotten her out like this so he turns her face down. ( after I push her back into the spot were her neck is stuck)  and then he is pushing my tail bone down trying to make it easier to get her out.  REMEMBER I feel everything!!!!!!!  So he starts haveing nurses hands pressing my stomach and my tailbone he tries to manuvore Paige with each contracton and it is'n t  helping!!!  So he notices that we are going into distress  He end's up haveing to vaccum her out because there was no way for me to do it my self.

Point ok now I'm almost  7 months prego again.  I want to get everyones opinion on what they think I should do.   I asked my doctor and he told me that he wants me to have a vaginal delivery again.  So should I try to do it natural like with the IV drip of drugs or should I try an epi again!!!!  I don't know what to do and everyone is like you won't make it naturally.  I did it before.  But this time I know exactly what went wrong with Paige's delivery and I know what to do.  So what do yall think I should do and be honest please!!!!

Oct. 11, 2007 at 11:19 PM I would go for a C-Section. Better to be safe than sorry, besides why put yourself through all of that again.

Every single labor and delivery I had were completely different...I delivered four children , vaginally...

Usually the first labors and the pushing stage is the most difficult and hardest, the first time, but not always...

You just won't know until your in labor and at the point you need to make decisions....but you can make it clear what happened last time so it won't happen again this time...I hope! Because  OWIE GIRL ! OUCH!  That Had to HURT!

I would try the epidural again, see if it works, one never knows how their bodies will react to medications at any point in their life...it may work wonders for you this time.  So if I were you I would at least try one epidural...

Good luck! I hope this labor goes fast, easy, and that baby slips down and comes out with no problems at all !

seriously, I'd do a C-section. You weren't doing anything wrong with the first baby, your baby was just face up which makes it very difficult to deliver. However, do you really want to feel all that pain again? I just had baby number 3 with no drugs any of the times and I tell you, I DO NOT want to go through that again--even though my labors were fast and "easy".  If I had a broken tailbone that caused problems, then I'd do c-section just to keep the labor short and not have to worry about fetal distress.

BUT--its your body and if you feel that you can do this, then make sure everyone knows what's going on and that your baby is face down (when the time comes) and do it your way. Only you can make the decision for what is best for you-mentally and physically.

btw--Congrats on your pregnancy

Oct. 11, 2007 at 11:22 PM Hell yeah-C-section, i had 2 c-sections and that's the only way I would have a child!!!! It's 1,2,3.  and you won't have to go through all that hell again.  You don't want to put your baby through that either.  The C-section is so much easier.  I had a shittly labor with my son and then they rushed me into a c-section, with my daughter i was like c-section and that's it!!!

Oct. 11, 2007 at 11:25 PM Considering the problem with your tail bone... I think a C section might be a better choice... but you're the best judge of that. If you do go the vag route... try getting your epidural really early... that way they have a chance to play with it to get it in right... I had to have epidurals for other reasons (I have a bad hip that we didn't know if it would dislocate... it didn't thankfully) but with both labours, I was induced, and told them pretty much when I got there that I wanted an epidural... if they can get it in, and started before you're in too much pain, they have a much better chance of placing it correctly... as you're able to stay still better... also... make sure the aneisthesiologist stays in the room till you're completely numb... cuz sometimes it does need be be adjusted a bit (with my 2nd... only half of me went numb at first... they pulled the catheter out a bit, and I was fine) Good luck hun... Hopefully this time around goes a bit smoother for you!

Oct. 11, 2007 at 11:27 PM BTW... if you do go the vag route... ask them if they can set a mirror up for you... it worked wonders for me... and my kids pushed out in minutes... you can see your progress... so you'll be able to know if you're getting hung up on your tailbone again... plus... you get to be the first one to see your baby come out... it's incredible!

oh sweetie, I know how the long labor feels and I feel for you! Mine ended in an emeragncy C-section! It sounds to me that having Bella vaginaly will end up causing you more problems! I would go for the C-Section! Believe me a planned C-section is a lot easier to recover from than from one that you have after really long labor! Good luck and BIG Hugs!!
