And what a game it was, we live in Kentucky and my husband and I both went to the University of Kentucky, our family has season tickets so today was the day. The game was UK verses LSU(ranked #1) so I thought as long as we didn't get smashed into the ground it would be a good game. We spent all day talking about the ball game, my 7 yr old had been to basketball games and sortof knew what to expect, the 4 yr old had no idea but was very excited anyway. So we pick up my father and head to the game, did I dress us to warm, did I bring the tickets, do I have money? These are all the questions running through my mind. We get closer to the stadium and the boys get louder they can feel the excitement in the air, this game was nationally televised.  We walk to the stadium, the crowd was HUGE! Well here we are, we've reached the entrance and give our tickets to the man, then off to find our seats.

As we go through the concourse they begin to complain, "people are bumping me", "I'm hungry", "I'm hot!".  All of a sudden, I start to rethink my excitement about my boys first football game. We get to our seats and they can't see because of the sun. I go in to see if they sell sunglasses, which of course they don't, so back to my seat. Then the big announcement from my 4 yr old "I have to go poop!" loud and proud he says this as everyone stares. Well we get that over with, and back to our seats we go.

Now all this before the game starts mind you, as the game begins things calm down until the first touchdown and the crowd goes bananas, sooooo loud, I mean loud. I look over and my 4 yr old is about to cry as he is holding his hands over his ears, "tooo loud " he says.  So I'm sweating like a dog, he is hanging on me and my 7 yr old says "is it time to go yet?".

I have great intentions with my boys, I really try to do fun stuff with them. Do I try to hard? Probably.  I did make them stay till halftime, It ended up being the best game ever, 3overtimes and Kentucky won!! Man, I'm glad we didn't stay though the scene after the game was hectic.  Oh well I think they'll remember their first college football game.

Oct. 13, 2007 at 8:54 PM It was a great game. We're LSU fans (want to keep the SEC in the #1 spot) so I would have preferred a different outcome, but it was such a great game.  Kentucky just wouldn't give up.  Good for them.  Kentucky plays Florida next week and we hate Florida, so we'll be pulling for KY next week.  Go Kats --beat the Gators!

Dec. 10, 2007 at 2:25 AM Sounds like fun!!!  We're also season tickets holders, except for IU basketball (sorry we're Hoosier fans)!!!!  My youngest (7) is extremely into sports, he goes to every game with me and doesn't move until it is over (see what I mean he is obsessed)!!  He doesn't get up in the morning wanting to watch cartoons, he wants ESPN or Big Ten Network to check out scores!!LOL
