Well... She's finally here... :) And well worth all the pains I have been whining about... hehe.
My baby story: ;)
Some of you already know I had been having contractions since Monday early morning that stuck pretty much around 5 min apart, but weren't changing my cervix! ugh! lol. I went in for my doc appt on Friday Morning and I was still the same as MONDAY! omg! So... I was 38 weeks pregnant and the doc agreed to strip my membranes for me... By the time I was on my way home after getting groceries, etc... the contractions had backed off to an even 10 min apart but were harder and lasting longer. But after an hour or so of that... they started speeding up and getting harder. By 5 or so, they had gotten to between 2 and 3 minutes apart and we decided to head back in. In the 45 min it took us to get there, they had gotten 1 min apart and hurt pretty bad! So after monitoring me for an hour or so... they decided to break my water around 8pm to help my cervix to change (I was at 3 and 80). Once my water broke... labor STALLED! Slowed down and almost stopped... so... a pitocin drip was started... I labored hard all night... and was dialating so slowly. Christina left around 2:30 or so because I made her! She had to work at 6am the silly girl! lol... after that... things got harder and I was also dry heaving for most of it at that point... and couldn't stop shaking... I was sooooooo lucky with my first two... haha. But unbelievable I kept my cool... no tears and I just kept breathing. If I would have let myself crack... I would have been screwed! By 5am I finally agreed to have a shot of numorphine (spelling?)... it didn't take any of the pain away... it just kind relaxed me and took off the edge... By shortly before 8am I was ready to push... The doc made it in time to catch her pretty much... haha. 1 push before doc got in and then 2 pushes in the next contraction and she was here. I had 2 stitches and am feeling pretty good other than being tired.
Now more about Kara! Our kids pretty much made our decision on the name btw. haha... they were both very against Brynn... so Kara Sophia Barrett it is :) She arrived at 7:58am on the 13th. (so Cara got the date right... hehe) She was 7lbs and 7oz, and measured 20 inches long. (and Brandy! you so got both of those dead on... freaky!) She is soooooooo good so far! She hasn't even let out a full blown cry since we got home yesterday! She eats good and is very laid back. She's perfect :)
I will post more pics later... but if anyone would like... my photobucket album has some uploaded to it. http://s166.photobucket.com/albums/u111/LizNicole82/Kara/
Here is one for now!
We are so very happy to have her home with us!
Thanks for all the congrats from everyone! I've been trying to catch up and get everyone used to all the changes! I'll be back soon I hope :)
Love and hugs to everyone!
