Columbus Day Run

My son's elementary school as well as 3-4 others do a columbus day run sponsored by an area running club.  They run a lap around the track.  Well my son came in First place in his heat of the run.  He was so excited.  Grandma and his aunt and uncle watched along with me and his baby brother.  Last year when he ran he came in 3rd place.  He kept talking about coming in and I didn't discourage him completely but I did say that he had to remember there were other schools involved besides his.  He has always been fast.  He was a fast crawler and he was a fast runner.  He always had a good head start before I would catch him when he was younger.  Now He would beat me hands down. ( I have weak ankles from breaking them so often.)  I am such a proud momma too.  Just wanted to share.
