Zoe has Celiac Disease

Just thought I would follow up and let everyone know that Zoe's biopsy results came in yesterday. She was diagnosed with Celiac Disease which is an immune disease that involves the body rejecting and being allergic to all wheat-based or "gluten" food items. She will require a special diet for the rest of her life. We are still in the process (a long one for sure) of learning how to feed her.

For now the focus is on getting her to gain some weight and stay hydrated. She will be followed closely by the doctors. She is suffering from protein malnourishment, malabsorption and she looks horrible still. She is skin and bones. The goal this week is to get her to gain some weight so she stays out of the hospital. Wish us luck and thank you all so much for your prayers and positive thoughts.
