I want everyone to know how frustrated I am at this moment. We have been screwed by Target before. A few years ago, a Target sales person had told us to buy a particular software. He assured us it was the one we would need. When it didn't work, they would not let us return it and we were out $100. We just ate the $100.
Then a year later, we purchased a digital camera. This particular camera required batteries so we were encouraged by the salesperson to buy a battery charger with rechargeable batteries. The photos on this camera were terrible so we returned the camera for an even more expensive model. This camera did not require batteries but Target would not let ud return the battery charger even though we just forked out so much money for the more expensive camera. The battery charger was still in the packaging.
Yesterday did it!! I am furious!!! We had purchased a take a long swing for my husbands second cousin. She has a son that is due any minute now. It was on the registry. We were not able to make the baby shower because my parents were in town from the East coast visiting. We found out that someone had already purchased the swing for her and apparantly had forgotten to take it off the registry. My husband had misplaced the receipt but assumed that store credit would be fine. Our cousin told us that she really wanted the Baby Einstein play mat and that no one had gotten her this. We just wanted to make an exchange.
They would not do it. They said they will not even exchange without a receipt. The person gave me a number to call to work it out. No one their would work with me. I spoke to two individuals who refused to work with me and told me i was welcome to write a letter about the policy but the letter would still not resolve the situation the way that i would like it to. The second individual I spoke to, a man, was patronizing and rude. He would speak over me and not let me finish my sentence. He had this condescending tone to his voice.
Now, I am stuck with a Rainforest take a long swing. I don't need it. I don't want it. This is so completely unfair. The cashier should tell the customer this after every transaction. I have never had a problem with any other store than Target. The problem is that where we live, it is our only option. There aren't any other stores of this nature.
Will any of the ladies on here help me out by participating in a protest. Nothing huge, like we won't shop at a Target on a particular day or week or something.
