Okay, so I'm finally back to normal - well, as close to normal as possible. I had my left knee replaced on October 1st. I came home on the 4th then went back to the emergency room a few days later because I was in so much pain. Then, on the 8th, I fell in my house and had to be taken to the ER again. All was well but I wasn't myself. I was very moody, very cranky, and having a hard time walking at all. Last Friday, the 12th, I don't know what happened but I somehow fell or twisted and dislocated my left shoulder. Off to the ER AGAIN - this was the third time in the ER since I went home from the hospital. The hospital felt that I wasn't able to take care of myself at the time and put me in a rehab. Oh My Goddess - I was crying almost the whole time. I missed my daughter, I couldn't sleep, I felt like I was in a convelescent home. Well, Wednesday they took the staples out of my knee - all 26 of them!!!!! You could hear me screaming down the street!!!!!! Man, did that hurt!!!!!!! Then they gave me the best news possible - I was going home the next day!!!!!!!!!! They were having a hard time getting the insurance company to pay for any more than a week at the rehab. So, I came home on the 18th - MY MOLLIE'S 15th BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great birthday gift!!!! I feel soooooo much better. The nurses think I had a vasovagle (sp?) - in other words, I went to have a bowel movement (sorry for the bluntness) and pushed so hard that my blood pressure bottomed out and I blacked out. I personally think the oxycontin they had me on was the problem. I was like a totally different person. My older daughter told me I chewed her out and screamed at her. I don't even remember doing that.....sheesh. Anyway, that's one medication that I will NEVER take again.
Let me tell you one thing that's for sure ladies - THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M SOOOOOO GLAD TO BE HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love ya,
Amy
