What do you all think about the medicine recalls? I tried to buy Aiden some of the pedicare for his cold last night and they wouldn't let me since it's been recalled! I'm calling his doctor today to find out what i can give him. He has asthma so when he gets a cold it's a high risk for an asthma attack! In my opinion, it is just ridiculous that we have to pay for some other person's mistake of overdosing their child! I always give him the very minimum dosage anyway!!! Grrrr. It just upsets me. Are we supposed to make our children suffer through their colds now??

Oct. 22, 2007 at 3:10 PM Poor thing! I feel for you right now I am giving Austin the very last of the Pediacare that I had. Its almost gone :( I did however bulk up on the little colds before it was recalled. I bought 12 boxes of the stuff!! I read also that they might recall regular childs cold medicine too. I better start bulking up on that too.

Oct. 22, 2007 at 3:11 PM Try this it really works, at least it does for Matthew and I, put vicks (baby) on his chest and back, cake it on, then put vicks (regular works great) on his feet, cake it on and then put socks on him. This pretty much will knock out the cough. I like the full strength for the feet, but the baby for the back and chest, it isn't as strong for their little lungs. Hope this helps!!!!!

Oct. 22, 2007 at 3:13 PM Oh, and get Ocean drops or spray and spray it up his nose twice a day. All it is, is saline drops and it works fabulous! With both remedies, he is sure to be ok!

Geez! I just emailed my doctor and this is what they said:

Hello,

They are not recommending anything for children under the age of 5 years. The only thing you can do is run a cool mist humidifier 24 hours a day and use saline drops in his nostrils and suck it out with the bulb syringe. I'm sure he will love that. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. Let us know if you have any other questions.
