Well, it has been 2 weeks since switching the kids' lunchtime sodas to the Aquapods. As a parent, there were a few things that I had noticed that really pleased me.
First, I liked how the bottles were shaped and fit into the brown bags easier than a "regular" sized water bottle. Having two teenagers, apparently it is "uncool" to have a lunchbox. Besides, expecting teenagers to be responsible to bring home anything other than necessary homework, is just asking too much! In addition to the shape, I liked that I was putting something healthy in their lunches, instead of the cans of sugar-packed soda.
I also kept a few bottles in the fridge, to grab on the way out the door for the sporting events and practices, or just for the car rides. I always keep an extra bottle in my purse, which is perfect with me being pregnant!
The kids told me they enjoyed having the bottles as well, especially my 17 year old son. I guess being the only one at his lunch table with an Aquapod gave him some notice! Hmmm, is that a new way to market them? I can see it now, "Aquapods can make you popular and sexy!" LOL. Well, maybe in just this one instance.
I want to continue to get the Aquapods, especially for their lunches and for my purse, since the convenience cant be beat, not to mention how much more healthy they are!
Comments:
is it just regualr plain water? or is it flavored or something? I'm not sure I can justify buying a lot of pricey bottles of plain ol water.
KUDOS to you for drinking more water and getting your kids to, as well
The Aquapods are natural spring water from Deer Park, the same that we have delivered to the house in the 5 gallon jugs. The pod shape make them much easier to put into the lunches for the kids. Its not only a healthy alternative to sodas or kool-aid, but better than the tap water coming out of the sink!
Recently, one of the main water lines busted in our neighborhood, and we were without water for a week, either due to them fixing the main, and all the contaminates that was in the water afterwards. Luckily, we had just started to have Deer Park deliver clean, fresh water to us a week prior.
As far as brown bagging it...lol...maybe I am lucky (I say that now, but some nights I just don't feel like packing lunches!!) but my kids like the little notes and "extra love" as they call it, that I put into their lunches. I give them coupons if they have been very good, like "30 min extra video game time" or "get a new craft at the craft store". I really try to give them the things they really enjoy as far as food wise, and like knowing that I am controlling what they are eating, as you know, the older they get, the harder that is to do! With the Aquapods, I loved knowing they weren't washing down the goodies that I gave them with a high sugar soda. I know that Ill continue to use Aquapods for their lunches....I think as parents we have to pick our battles, and stick to the things that we can control!
