My Dad Was Diagnosed With Cancer A Month Ago...

My wonderful dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma last month, he's had tons of melanomas removed but we never thought it would spread.  It's in his brain, and possibly lungs and liver.  He's 78, but still has a lot of life left to live!  He's basically a father figure to my 16 year old son.  He had radiation for 3 weeks and has lost almost all of his hair.  He refuses to let it get him down, he's still working nonstop and still has more energy than I do!  If any of you could keep in your prayers I would greatly appreciate it.  I do believe in miracles, and he is SO worthy of one. If there's one thing that I can do it's to tell all of you to please check your skin for moles and any changes as often as you can.  This is a deadly disease, one that not many people are aware of.  Thank you!

Hey Mickey,

Wanted to say sorry about your dad and thanks for the post.  I just found out tonight my dad has liver cancer.  He also had several "spots" removed over the years, reading your post got me thinking.  I was trying to figure out how this was not noticed before.  He has been treated for COPD for the past several years, has been to various specialist, has had tons of blood drawn and never said nothing until now.  I'm thinking now there may be a connection with the melanomas he had removed over the years.  I to am a believer in prayer, we will add your family to our prayers and please add ours to yours.  Good luck to you all!
