I have finally found the time to take my final pictures of my completed project. Here is a recap for those of you who haven't followed my journey. I was fortunate to be selected to participate in special project with Cafemom and JCPenney. My assignment was to spruce up my bathroom, with items from the Chris Madden collection at JCPenney. Upon accepting the assignment, I was awarded with $350 to spend on this project. My dilemma, how was I going to spend $350 on a room that I had already completely redecorated!
My project started with a lot of online viewing. I was a bit disappointed in what was available in the Chris Madden collection. I found her bathroom collections somewhat limited in their offerings, and the colors uninspiring. The main reason for my feeling on the color choices, is there were no offerings for anything other than muted tones, which did not fit my decorating style. My biggest disappointment, was the offerings of "extras", such as decorative canisters, or items like soap dispensers. This was the type I thing I was looking to purchase, but again, nothing fit my style. Even though it wasn't my own money I was spending, I still wasn't going to change my taste and purchase things I didn't like. I even tried visiting one of the larger JCPenney stores in my area, but didn't have better luck there (see my third journal post for more on that).
Long story, short (kind of), this is what I did find. I was able to purchase a very nice set of towels form Chris Madden (white) for my bathroom, I added some decorative Chris Madden baskets (most are hidden in my cabinet), a new Chris Madden curtain rod (the curtain I had brand new sitting in the package in a closet), some really large canisters (I still have to get some bath salts to fill one), and faux plant. A did purchase a few items that you won't see in my final review; towels for a different bathroom (I am not crazy about the colors of these particular towels but they were the closest I could come to matching), and hand towel and soap dispenser for my laundry room. I did purchase a standing basket storage system with the intention of using it to hold my towels, but the baskets weren't wide enough to hold many towels.
Here are my before pics...

Here are the afters..........
new greenery and large canisters
nothing changed here
nothing changed
new basket with towels
new window treatment

Thank you Cafemom and JCPenney for the wonderful opportunity you gave me to participate in this project!

I love what you did, especially the window. You're right...the colors in the collection are muted, but luckily, that's just what I needed. :) The canisters are great, too, and bathsalts will look very nice. Congratulations!
