You've got to take your kids to the Houston-area's Woodlands Mall. There's a dinosaur excavation, a children's museum, a carousel, and shopping... the Disney Store, Gymboree, Pottery Barn Kids, and The Children's Place. Right next to the dinosaur dig and the Houston Museum of Natural Science's store, there's a play place--FREE. We had to ride the carousel 5 times. $1/ride. The mall was beautiful. There's a Barnes & Noble (certainly with a children's area inside) on a shopping street that's loaded with fountains, sitting areas, and a waterway where you can rent boats for a ride--kinda Venice like. We didn't ride boats. My daughter was too busy riding the carousel. But the Exploratorium with the dino dig has a large mineral collection with geodes as big as me. I'm 5'3". It's incredible just to go see the beauties. I'm ready to go back. Ok, the geologist in me is ready to go back. Then there's the woman in me pining for the shopping. LOL
