I was scheduled o be induced on October 23. I arrived at the hospital at 5 am and was checked by the nurse to see how dilated I was, 1cm. So they started up the pitocin, and so came the contractions, they were painful, but tolerable. At 9am my doctor came in and checked me and said the outside was 1cm, but I was still closed on the inside. They took me off the pitocin and started cervadil. I was on that from about 9 am Tuesday until 3am Wednesday, thats when they started the pitocin again.

This time the contractions were much harsher and when I was about 3cm they gave me some weird ass medicine that made me hallucinate, I could still feel the contractions just as much but I was tripping so hard I couldn't say anything, it was terrible. I stared moaning and screaming so they gave me my epidural(HEAVEN). It was a little uncomfortable but well worth it. The doctor came in around 830-845am and said that the babies heart rate was being very erratic and thought it was best to go ahead and do a c-section. He mentioned that if I tried to do it vaginally that the there was no guarantee on how the baby would come out. So, within 5 minutes I was in the operating room, shaking my ass off, and the anesthesiologist gave me some more meds. I couldn't feel anything below my boobs. I felt the tugging when they where pulling the baby out, Jason couldn't believe how hard they had to pull. At 910am my lil man was born, grey and purple looking according to hubby. It took a minute or two before I heard a cry,a nd it was a good one. He received a 5 on his apgar test. Thank God my doctor did the emergency c-section, otherwise who knows what would have happened to Jacob.

Hubby left the OR with Jacob a few minutes later, and they headed off to the nursery. I was stapled up and sent back to my room for an hour of recovery before I could see my baby. When they finally brought him in he was bundled up and had a cute little hat on his head. The nurse handed him to me to try breastfeeding for the first time, and by my surprise, he latched on immediately. I was so happy because breastfeeding is extremely important to me, it's the only way I can prevent Jacob from having Crohn's disease like me. Also all the other wonderful benefits of it, including helping me lose all this baby weight.

Since I had a c-section, I had to stay in The hospital until Friday. On Thursady night they told me he had jaundice and had to be put under a lamp. He was under there until midnight on Saturday. Unfortunately I had a crohn's flare attack that night and had to leave LnD and go to the ER. I was released that Sunday at around 130pm and so was Jacob. We finally got to go home, Yippee. So its day two and he is sleeping right know and I should be taking a nap, but I wanted to blog and upload all my cute baby pics...Thats my story....
