You Sure You Wanna Go There...?

... with my hair!

For those of you who know me, this will come as no surprise. For those of you who are not in the know, let me explain. Like many folks, I have hair. Yes, real hair, it grows on my head. Or from my head? Well, whatever. The fact is, I have hair, and the thing is, I have a real love/hate relationship with my hair. Basically, I love to hate my hair.

Here's the thing; my hair is unruly and generally does what it wants instead of what I want it to. I am partially to blame, I admit. I have neglected it. I often just wear it in a ponytail or a hair bob on the back of my head... you know, one of those messy, faux buns. It looks quite stylish on most women, but alas, on me, it looks exactly like what it is; too lazy to fix it.

I have dark brown, curly, long'ish hair. It's about... past my bra strap (I actually had to take it out of the ponytail to see how long it's gotten... yes, I'm wearing a ponytail! I've been cleaning house today! Don't look at me like that!) Anyway, I know that I have been somewhat neglectful lately... I mean, I've just sort of let it grow out as it would. I haven't had a trim in... months... like, 16 months... *sheepish shrug* and I don't always care for it like I should, I know. If I want to wear it curly, really, all I have to do is not do anything and it frizzes right up, all on it's own. If I want to go curly withoutthe frizz, well, that's a different thing altogether. That actually requires hair product, and a blow dryer. And if I want to wear it straight, then that's at least a forty minute process in itself, from out of the shower to finished 'do. Way more involved. So, I do the ponytail, or messy bob. Mush simpler.

However, even when I attempt to fix my hair, it doesn't always work out. Some days, no matter how hard I try, it just wants to be curly. So I walk around with what I call "bumpy" hair. It looks bumpy! And then there are the days where, no matter what product I use, the frizz is just outta control. Or my personal fave... half curly, half straight. Those days are fun, and usually are the days when I can't find a ponytail holder or a hair clip to save my life.

However, the reason for this post is because whilst cleaning my house, I came across an old pack of photos. They were taken about three years ago. Not only do I look thinner in these photos, but my hair looks freaking AWESOME! I mean, I had no idea how good my hair used to look! I remember that cut, it was something new for me. Short, it was down to my chin. I don't do bangs....bangs are scary on me. So I never get it cut shorter than chin-length. It had these layered chunks, and the back was shorter than the front. It was the best hair I've ever had!

Anyway, I was checking out how great my hair looked, and I am thinking... I am going to march on down to the salon (ok, drive... if I attempted to march, I would get there sometime in the next four days. And I would smell, too) with pic in hand, and get that style again. I even have a pic of my hair from the back! I'm pretty excited. I'll have cool hair again!

Woo hoo!

I thought you were talking about my hair...My hair is naturally curly (thanks mom) and ugh a mess..So I do the pony tail or bun thingy ..I told my husband that I was going to cut it short (it is pass my bra strap) and he said umm nope..So I came up with a plan and so far it is NOT working.  Since my husband doesnt want me to cut my hair, he has to style it every day b4 work.  Hoping he will get tired of it but its been 2 weeks and hes still at it.

Ok first of all your hair does not take 40 minutes to blow dry straight.  Are you smokin' something?  My hair doesn't even take that long to blow dry straight.  And my hair can't even be classified as curly/wavy.  It's just ... there.

Now that we've cleared that up, like I've been telling you for MONTHS get it cut already!  You look super sexy with short hair!!  And you're happy with it!  Just do it already :)
